Challenge

Among technology job seekers, Hulu was a brand recognized mainly as an entertainment company, not a technology company, but they are both. We were asked to create a recruitment campaign that attracted technologists who would thrive in the company culture, while making it distinct enough so it would not be confused for general Hulu advertising.

Solution

Hulu is a company where technology and entertainment converge in a collaborative environment of very smart people. They work hard and play hard. The campaign theme of “Powering Play” and a style guide was created that kept the message focused on those who created the backend technology that made the Hulu experience. This targeted messaging and storytelling in combination with strong visuals created a stand out opportunity among a sea of Google and Facebook fans.

Taking the essence of “Powering Play” and translating this visually across all campaign touch points in digital and print. A complete style guide was developed and handed off to Hulu’s marketing design team to utilize as an evergreen handbook to continue the integrity of the recruitment campaign look and feel.
